You will be managing a highly technical engineering team working on various projects across the wider group to develop bespoke automation and modern manufacturing facilities. The team itself will work on projects such as automating a labour intensive manufacturing line including doing the concept design. You will also spend time on-site in a plant/production environment specifying new manufacturing processes, designing new machinery, automation, robotics and leading CAPEX projects. This is a senior role that will require a lot of varied engineering experience and management skills. The ideal candidate will possess:

a broad engineering background, demonstrating the ability to deliver highly complex engineering programs with an innovative approach and excellent problem-solving skills. You should be outgoing, enthusiastic, self-motivated, highly driven, and capable of working effectively at all levels within the business. Background & experience: Masters or Chartered in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Excellent knowledge of instrumentation. Experience working in a chemical or similar industry or have worked in a hazardous environment. Experience working with standards such as CONAH, ATEX, SIS, SIL. Experience working in a plant environment, potentially as a manufacturing, production, process engineer with project management would be good. Must have experience / good knowledge of machine automation and process improvement within this. Knowledge of piping would be beneficial. Good people management experience. Excellent communication skills. Your duties and responsibilities will include: Act as the Responsible Engineer on projects. Lead project delivery teams across the project lifecycle from bid generation, through concept and detailed design development to installation and commissioning. Work closely with colleagues to support activities that offer the best service to the client, gathering useful intelligence on client needs and delivering innovative solutions. Own and manage R&D project budgets. Build and manage client relationships and leverage those relationships to deliver continued opportunities and new business leads. Work on systems integration, testing and validation of PLC, SCADA and simulator systems. Demonstrate knowledge of the practical aspects of implementing engineering designs and compliance with regulatory requirements in an engineering environment. Produce high-quality technical reports.
