The Finance Manager will be a key member of the finance team, providing both financial and operational support across the business. This role will focus on financial management, with additional responsibilities in governance, sustainability, and HR. The successful candidate will need to be highly adaptable, proactive, and ready to take on diverse challenges in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. i-confidential is a small to medium-sized company based in Edinburgh. We are looking for a proactive and dynamic Finance Co-ordinator/Manager to join our team for a 15-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. Responsibilities

Financial

Monitoring financial data and recommending solutions to improve profitability. Oversee and support accounting, bank processes and invoicing. Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Assist with year-end financial processes and work closely with lawyers and accountant. Review of VAT returns within the legal deadline dates. Work with the delivery team on the financial details of client engagements and monitoring spending throughout the duration. Reviewing supplier costs. Line responsibility for 1 member of finance team. Governance & Stability

Support governance processes by ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. Risk management and reporting. Data collection and completion of sustainability reports. HR

Assist in managing employee benefits and payroll queries. Create employee contracts if required. Manage the outsourced payroll service, ensuring employees are paid in accordance with contracted agreements and legal requirements. Manage the workplace pension scheme and relationship with other partners, contributing to the total remuneration package of employees. Creating and putting into action plans to reduce i-confidential’s environmental impact. What we’re looking for

Good interpersonal skills. Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a similar finance or operations role, ideally within a small to medium-sized company. Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with different teams across the business. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
