Main duties of the job
To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence-based, patient-centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whilst reflecting the philosophy of care. To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery. To provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient-centred, evidence-based nursing care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
Registered nurse with current registration with NMC. Diploma and working towards or willing to work towards degree level. Practice assessor and supervisor training.
Desirable
First Level/Supervisory Management Qualification or Course.
Experience
Essential
Minimum of two years of experience at Band 5 level. Proven experience of clinical leadership of a team and leading team through change. Experience of mentoring.
Desirable
Knowledge and experience of clinical governance principles, including risk register.
