The appointed Production Director will have overall responsibility for production/manufacturing, quality, health and safety, and supply chain activities for a large team. Deliver on the operational KPIs for the site whilst simultaneously further developing a culture of continuous improvement and employee empowerment. Lead senior colleagues in manufacturing and engineering to contribute effectively to the growth strategy of the business. Comfortable leading the production management team; detailed knowledge of quality, engineering, and health and safety required. Strategically plan to deliver on the long-term vision of the company ensuring painless growth. Flexible attitude on a day-to-day basis; firm and persistent when expressing views but a good listener comfortable changing course if given compelling reasons.

Of degree calibre with well-evidenced leadership and coaching abilities. Formal Lean and Continuous Improvement training preferred; track record of lean implementation and development of a culture of empowerment and continuous improvement. Prior experience working for a manufacturer in a senior management/director post. Gravitas to lead a large team; comfortable from shop floor to board room. Relationship builder able to increase cooperation across departments.
