Organisation: St Andrew's Medical Centre We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Practice Nurse with excellent communication skills to join the team. Our practice is built on the principles of providing friendly, caring and compassionate healthcare to all. We are an EMIS Web based practice, serving around 9800 patients in and around Southborough. Why St Andrews? St Andrews Medical Centre is situated between Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge, surrounded by beautiful rural countryside. In 2021, we moved into a brand new purpose-built medical centre within the new Southborough Community Hub, with state-of-the-art facilities. We are looking to expand our already extensive multi-disciplinary team! Current Team: Our multi-disciplinary clinical team includes 4 Partners (3 GPs and a Clinical Pharmacist), 4 salaried GPs, 1 Paramedic Practitioner, 1 ANP, a highly experienced Practice Nurse, an HCA, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and a GPA, all supported by a dedicated admin team. We also provide minor surgery and contraception services and have visiting specialists who run ENT clinics out of our surgery. Experience: Practice nurse experience is essential. Job Summary: The post holder must work as part of a team, have the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload on a day-to-day basis, and observe strict rules about confidentiality at all times. You will be required to undertake full treatment room duties, including immunisations, dressings, removal of sutures, cervical smear taking, and anti-coagulation. Experience in additional areas including long-term conditions (particularly asthma, COPD), travel immunisations, and family planning are desirable. Working strictly in accordance with specific practice or national guidelines, the Practice Nurse will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. The post holder must maintain registration with NMC, fulfilling its Code of Conduct to protect the public through professional standards and fulfilling learning requirements. We are looking to cover a minimum of 12 hours of nursing time. Additional hours may be required to cover annual leave and sickness, so flexibility is important.
