Fresh People are currently looking to recruit a Management Accountant for our Fresh Produce client based in the Maidstone location. In this role you will be assisting in delivering all reporting requirements for the Trading and Central divisions, along with Group-wide reporting. The role also includes facilitating weekly and monthly reporting processes, maintaining key financial controls, and providing investigative and analytical support to the Commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
Weekly Commercial Reporting
Produce weekly profitability reports using SAP Business Objects. Investigate and resolve queries to ensure accurate variance analysis. Maintain and release automated rebate accruals to ensure profitability. Collaborate with the transactional team to validate reporting. Monthly Management Accounts
Production of standard management accounting reporting package for locally managed trading entities, holding companies, joint ventures and other investment vehicles within 7 working days. Conduct variance analysis against established budgets. Perform accruals and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy. Address any anomalies in the General Ledger with the transactional team. Rolling and Quarterly Forecasts
Assist in producing quarterly forecasts for sales, costs, and supply-chain data. Continually assess and produce rolling forecasts to show forecast year-end results. External and Ad-Hoc Reporting
Support reporting requirements for external partners (e.g., banks, FX providers, government agencies). Prepare commercial reports for key meetings of the Commercial teams. Ensure timely submission of VAT returns to optimise cash flow. General Duties
Develop reporting controls to enhance the accuracy of General Ledger and Commercial data. Monitor intra-group balances and clear them quarterly. Assist with group audits and system testing for IT development. Provide support during periods of increased workload. Commit to self-development and maintain open communication with the line manager. Person Specification
Qualifications : Part-qualified or higher in a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA). Previous experience in cost accounting within industries such as fresh produce, food, or manufacturing. Multi-company and multi-currency group experience preferred. Knowledge of Prophet ERP and SAP preferred. Highly organised with strong attention to detail. Skilled in using computer systems to enhance productivity. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Collaborative approach to building relationships.
