Research Manager - London - Law An international law firm that is Headquartered in the US has a requirement for a Research Manager to join their team in London and play a key role in the delivery and the development of the firms information and research capabilities in the UK, Europe and Asia. This is a role with a large degree of autonomy, but will benefit from support from the US and a London based head of function. It is a position that will most likely suit someone with considerable experience across information and research in a legal setting, and potentially someone looking for a step up in responsibility. In this Research Manager role, the primary objectives are as follows: Support Lawyers in the UK, Europe and Asia with onboarding The provision of a business and legal research service The development and provision of the firms current awareness service Management, selection and development of both online and hardcopy resources Managing relationships with vendors, expenditure and ROI The delivery of training and development of training materials to support new joiners in the UK and overseas Supporting or leading on projects that concern new research or technology product adoption/engagement and the continuous improvement of the research and information services offering Building strong relationships and engagement with key stakeholders and stakeholder groups across the firm To be a suitable candidate for this Research Manager role, a strong mix of the following is required: Considerable experience in a similar role, ideally as a Senior Researcher or Information Officer in a legal or professional services setting Extremely well-versed across a wide spectrum of legal and business research resources Highly refined research skills and the ability to train, mentor and support others in research methods and the use of resources The ability to deliver and to develop a current awareness service A high degree of experience in the technology solutions that underpin the delivery of a research and information service An ability to balance a workload that consists of operational, project and financial responsibilities An expert in relationship building, stakeholder management and working with functions/teams that are dispersed in multiple geographic locations A continuous improvement based mindset
