What you’ll be doing As a Volunteer Recruitment and Pathways Executive you will be instrumental in shaping the IET’s volunteer experience. From sourcing and recruiting volunteers to retaining an engaged and skilled volunteer base, you’ll develop and execute targeted recruitment strategies to ensure a steady pipeline of talented individuals aligned with the IET’s charitable objectives. By building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, you’ll enhance volunteer opportunities while monitoring application performance and addressing gaps in recruitment. Your role will include supporting the growth and development of our existing volunteer base. You’ll serve as the central contact for volunteers, helping them navigate developmental pathways, and ensuring their needs are met. You’ll create new opportunities, support succession planning, and act as a champion for volunteer engagement and retention, fostering a community of proactive, motivated individuals who align with our values. What we hope you can bring to the role We’re seeking someone with a strong background in recruitment, volunteer management, or customer relationship management, ideally with experience in delivering initiatives focused on recruitment and retention. You’ll bring excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, along with a data-driven approach to monitoring trends and measuring success. The ideal candidate will have experience engaging diverse stakeholders, implementing strategies to support volunteer pathways, and a passion for helping individuals develop in their roles. Knowledge of charitable governance structures or experience in the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous. Your ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and adapt to changing needs will be essential. A little more about the role Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies to attract and retain skilled volunteers. Monitor and report on application performance, identifying trends and improvement areas. Collaborate with stakeholders to address volunteer gaps and implement succession planning strategies. Build relationships with Academic and Industrial Corporate Partners to generate volunteer leads. Explore and create new volunteering roles, including micro-volunteering opportunities. Manage and maintain a talent bank to track volunteer skills, availability, and experiences. Support the design and implementation of volunteer career pathways. Act as a liaison with governance teams to align strategies for senior volunteer retention. A little more about what we’re looking for Proven experience in recruitment, volunteer management, or customer-focused roles. Strong relationship-building skills with diverse audiences and stakeholders. Ability to analyse data and implement insights to improve recruitment and retention strategies. Confidence in presenting and leading communications across varied platforms. Experience designing initiatives to engage and support volunteers or customers. Knowledge of charitable governance structures is advantageous. Organised and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
