Job Overview Exciting opportunity to join the research team at PRH. Be part of shaping future care within SATH. As an Assistant Research Practitioner, you will work alongside Research Nurses/Midwives/AHP's to maximize Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust recruitment of patients into research appropriate for their condition. The role is diverse and interesting, and you will play a part in improving healthcare and treatments for future generations. There will be a data management aspect to this role, and the development of secure data management environments is an exciting new element to the team's workload. This position will be based in maternity and paediatrics but will need to cover other areas in addition. We are a happy and diverse team, and our staff survey results demonstrate the satisfaction of our staff in this rewarding, nurturing environment. We are proud to have 5 other assistant research practitioners (ARP) within our teams, and their input is highly valued. It is anticipated that ARP's will progress to CRP level (clinical research practitioner) with further training and experience. Main Duties of the Job Overseeing patients' journey throughout their time in a research study. Carrying out observations as required by each study. Involvement in setting up and delivering new studies. Organizing workload to ensure requirements of the role are met. Data entry as required for each study. Venepuncture and sample management including centrifuging samples where required (training provided where required). Screening, consenting, and following patients up as required by each study protocol. Maintaining safety and stock for each study. Supporting others in the team with duties as required. Supporting digital culture growth and working on digital platforms in maternity/paediatrics. Being proactive in acquiring new research studies to host at our trust.
