This post will be 37.5 hours a week and requests to work flexibly and/or part time will be considered, taking into account business needs.

Main Duties of the Job Here at Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC), we are an inclusive and dedicated organisation working to provide excellent care to our entitled personnel.

Job Responsibilities Job Responsibilities

You will be maintaining the standard and cleanliness of the surgery and accommodation for which you are responsible, reporting any deficiencies and following all local policies and protocols.

You will also provide clinical and administrative support for the provision of dental care in DPHC dental centres, enhancing force generation and operational capability and minimising dental morbidity on operations.

There are no expected Line Management responsibilities with this role; any future changes will be discussed with the successful applicant at the time.

Additional Information

All employees joining MoD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a 6-month probation period (unless otherwise advised) effective from the employment start date. Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is Security Check (SC).

Person Specification

Registrations and Memberships

Must be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC)

Please provide your membership registration number.

You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.

Your application will not progress should you fail to provide a valid membership registration number.

Qualifications

National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) Certificate or National Vocational Qualification in Oral Healthcare Dental Nursing Level 3.

Experience

A Full United Kingdom driving licence to enable working from another local military dental centre, if required.

Evidence of indemnity cover for general dental practice.

Evidence of currency with GDC Continued Professional Development requirements.

Confidence in using Information Technology.

Be prepared to contribute to the development of staff skills and knowledge.

Prepared to cover out of hours dental duties when required.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£26,530 to £29,114 a year RRA £1500 per annum. On-call allowance. (Pro Rata for part time)
