Working full-time from our Cramlington facility , you will primarily support the UK Country Financial Controller to ensure compliance with accounting standards and help drive financial reporting and control across multiple UK legal entities. This role will play a critical role ensuring that all internal and external reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time. Maintain a robust and efficient financial control environment whilst driving a culture of continuous improvement. You will be assuring that all accounting procedures are in accordance with Gates policies and procedures and with all local government laws and regulations. Key responsibilities (to name a few): Provides technical accounting expertise to UK Finance team members as required and directs the preparation and formal review of local financial reports and statements. Support the Country Financial Controller with ad hoc reporting and projects as required. Deputising for Country Financial Controller UK when required. Support statutory accounts preparation in accordance with accounting standards. Key point of contact for annual statutory and control audits for all UK entities. Key point of contact and liaison with EMEA Shared Service Centre (SSC) re. GL accounting, AR and AP for UK entities. Support month end closing of ledgers of entities not supported by EMEA SSC. Handling all control activities where the finance department is process owner and that are subject to Sarbanes-Oxley Act 404 Compliance. ABOUT YOU Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA). Strong technical accounting skills on entity and divisional level IFRS or US-GAAP. Minimum 3 years post qualified experience preferably in industry. WHY GATES?
