We are delighted to be working alongside our long-term client on an exclusive agency arrangement as they seek to recruit an additional (due to company growth) Regional Roadside Performance Manager (shift-work) to join their friendly and busy regional team.

Regional Roadside Performance Manager Full Time Permanent role

This is primarily a regional field-based role (south central region) and also requires regular time at company HQ in Mid Sussex.

Salary £42,000 plus very good company benefits and bonus scheme (see below for all details). The position includes a company service car. Field / Office based role with a small element of admin style home working.

The role: Our client provides Motoring Assistance throughout Southern England. The customer base includes leading Motoring Organisations, Police Authorities, Franchise Motor Dealers, independent garages, crash repair specialists, and direct to the public.

The role of the Roadside Performance Manager is to assist the Roadside Operations Manager to provide day-to-day management of a team of rescue and mobile technicians. In addition to the management of the patrol force, you will work alongside them carrying out roadside breakdowns as and when required in a suitably equipped vehicle.

At times, you will be expected to assist outside of your core hours to help members of your team who encounter any difficulties.

Duties of the position include: People Management Monitoring, reviewing, appraising Roadside Staff performance Training and career development of Roadside Staff including developing Staff Retention Programmes Monitoring daily staffing levels together with rota forward planning, overtime arrangements and shift changes Ensuring PPE and tooling is available and meets relevant Health and Safety legislation Carry out all relevant first level disciplinary/grievance procedures for Roadside staff Assist staff with technical or loading queries identifying any training needs Ensuring patrols and vehicles meet Company minimum standards Hold regular one-to-one sessions with roadside staff and review individual performance against Company targets Assist with interviews when required for Roadside Staff with the Operations Manager Administration Maintain records of performance reviews Assisting with management of service van fleet servicing as required Assist with both induction and ongoing training of all roadside staff Reviewing roadside paperwork including spot checks and damage reports for redelivered vehicles Visiting customers and/or other companies to resolve any disputes or claims

Competencies / experience required: We are seeking someone with a strong automotive background that is used to running a team of technicians, workshop supervisor, workshop manager etc.

Shift pattern: Core hours are Monday to Friday 07.00 to 18.00 but you will need to be available to the workforce outside of these hours should the need arise. Hours may be substituted for others as necessary for example to appraise night or weekend workers.

Week 1 - Working Monday, off Tuesday, working Wednesday, Thursday, Friday off Saturday and Sunday.

Week 2 - Working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, off Saturday and Sunday.

Week 3 - Working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, off Thursday, working Friday, Saturday 07.00 to 13.00 (for interviews and control visits) then 'on call' only for Saturday and Sunday.

At times, where you identify the requirement, due to staffing levels or exceptional demand, you may assist by working as a normal roadside technician - this work would be carried out in your Company allocated vehicle.

Salary Package: Basic Salary: £42,000 per annum plus performance bonus related to the management of your team.

Quarterly bonus scheme: Above 70% of roadside staff meeting KPI targets £1,000.00 Above 80% of roadside staff meeting KPI targets £1,500.00 Above 90% of roadside staff meeting KPI targets £2,000.00
