Job Overview A manufacturer based in Stowmarket is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join their finance team on a temporary basis. You will be responsible for managing the weekly payroll for approximately 300 employees using Sage Line 50. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will work within a team of four to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. This role requires an immediate start and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Process weekly payroll for approximately 300 employees using Sage Line 50. Ensure compliance with relevant payroll regulations and company policies. Collaborate with the Head of Finance and the payroll team to address payroll discrepancies or issues. Handle statutory deductions, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions. Prepare and submit payroll reports and summaries as required. Assist with year-end payroll processes and audits, if applicable. Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee information. Provide support to the finance team as needed during the temporary engagement.

Skills and Qualifications Proven experience in payroll processing, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Sage Line 50 software is essential. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory requirements. Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and under tight deadlines. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Requirements Immediate availability. Experience managing payroll for large teams (e.g., 300+ employees). Ability to commit to 4-5 days per week for a minimum of 4 weeks.
