We are looking for an outstanding Technology Operations Delivery Lead to spearhead our Critical Maintenance and Technical Debt programme. This pivotal role will be instrumental in overseeing and coordinating a wide array of technology projects, driving continuous improvement and ensuring Aegon’s technology estate is maintained, and technical debt is addressed in line with Aegon Group goals and prior to end of service.

The role will lead a team of permanent and 3rd party Technical Project Managers who will ensure the roadmap, ongoing backlog and effective management of assigned projects through their lifecycle, ensuring project and implementation risks documented and made visible. The scope of the Critical Maintenance projects will align with the management of end-of-life operating systems, database instances, AWS service upgrades and infrastructure/security safeguarding.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, encompassing Technology Operations, 3rd party Infrastructure providers, engineering, product management, compliance and risk, ensuring the successful execution and delivery of high-impact projects.

In this role you will lead and drive the technical delivery, own and maintain the critical maintenance schedule, make decisions that impact and shape the strategic product and deliver the roadmap.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

A proven track record in delivering a portfolio of Projects/Programmes of work, specifically linked to Critical Maintenance and/or Technical Debt remediation, with large resource budgets.

Experience delivering cloud solutions (PaaS, IaaS and SaaS), data platforms and engineering capability in a regulated environment.

Effective influencing and negotiation skills.

A fundamental knowledge of ITIL processes and how they are applied within a Technology Operations department.

Strong management and leadership background to deliver business goals and develop teams to their full potential.

Previous experience of transforming and leading ways of working in a regulated environment and effectively using Service Now, JIRA, Confluence, Teams as productivity and collaboration tools.

Agile, ITIL & Prince2 certifications would be beneficial.
