We have a brilliant opportunity at HMP Rye Hill to join the education team as our Library Support Officer on a permanent, part-time basis working 25.9 hours per week. What the role entails To keep the library organised and efficient while supporting learners and promoting engagement with the library provision, to progress and develop as independent readers. The role is 3.5 days a week which can be flexible to your requirements. What we need from you To be successful in the role, you will need: To hold Level 3 Library and Information Services qualification or be willing to work towards achieving within an agreed timescale. To hold Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy. Ideally, you will want to be a part of a team that has at its core a focus on improving lives and enabling and equipping learners to develop, grow, and be equipped for a life of work and success. You'll be a self-starter with a passion to learn and grow yourself and will bring passion, dedication, and positivity to your new role. About HMP Rye Hill HMP Rye Hill is a category 'B' training prison situated in the village of Willoughby, near Rugby in Warwickshire, holding 664 sentenced male adults. HMP Rye Hill has continued to focus on enhancing its rehabilitative culture. Government inspectors have rated the prison positively for promoting safety, respect, and purposeful activity. Additionally, plans for expanding the prison's capacity from 664 to 1126 inmates are underway, further enhancing its ability to manage its population effectively. Our aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and causes of prison stress are minimised. We seek to normalise prison conditions as far as possible and reflect life in the outside community. All applicants will be required to undergo an appropriate DBS check via the Criminal Records Bureau and may be subject to additional online checks as part of our pre-screening process.
