We are recruiting for an experienced neonatal intensive care sister/charge nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at Croydon University Hospital. This post has a great opportunity for learning, development, and career growth. Learn to develop your skills and increase your knowledge by becoming an experienced level two neonatal nurse, caring and stabilising a range of sick neonates from both extreme prematurity to term gestation who may need transfer to a tertiary center for on-going care. Main duties of the job

Providing high quality, effective and individualised nursing care to a variety of patients in a compassionate and caring way. Responsible for delivering autonomous and collaborative care, ensuring the well-being and safety of neonates in neonatal intensive care units, and assisting with the stabilisation of neonates. Assessing care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating care plans without supervision. Helping to lead and monitor the performance of the nursing team and mentoring students. Deputising for the Senior Nurse as required. Educating and supporting families, providing them with the necessary information and resources to care for their neonates. About us

Qualifications

Current registration and revalidation. Qualified in Specialty. Evidence of on-going professional development. Management Course Audit. Experience

Experience in a level 2/3 neonatal unit. Facilitating and teaching students. Good problem-solving skills dealing with complex cases. Taking charge of the unit. Skills/Abilities

Able to work independently and supervise junior staff. Team spirited with analytical ability to work under pressure. Good verbal and written communication. Motivating staff. Child protection training. Interpersonal skills. Personal Attributes

Respect and maintain confidentiality. Able to accept, give and respond to constructive criticism. Able to identify and manage stress in self and others. Able to work both day and night shifts subject to service demands. Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. £42,939 to £50,697 a year pro rata inc of HCAS.
