35 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 8:30am - 5:00pm, Fri 8:30am - 12:30pm) About Us: A leading manufacturing and engineering businesses. Purpose of the Role: We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Environmental Officer to join our team. This role will focus on ensuring that the company maintains its compliance with health and safety laws and best practices, fostering a safety-first culture, and driving continuous improvement in our HSE standards. You will work closely with the management team to implement HSE policies, support teams with advice and training, and champion a strong safety culture across the business. Key Responsibilities: Awareness of Legislation:

Keep the company updated with current and upcoming HSE legislation; liaise with industry bodies and attend relevant courses. HSE Actions & Implementation:

Oversee compliance with HSE policies and procedures, including contractor and visitor management, audits, reporting, and equipment inspections. Incident Investigation & Emergency Procedures:

Lead investigations into HSE incidents and ensure robust emergency procedures are in place. Advice & Support to Managers:

Conduct risk assessments, advise on safety procedures, and support training and development to ensure managers meet HSE objectives. Culture Change:

Role model expected HSE behaviours, engage with the workforce to reinforce safety culture, and encourage participation in safety improvement initiatives. Best Practice & Continuous Improvement:

Develop and implement innovative HSE ideas, engage in industry networking, and assist in the continuous improvement of HSE practices across the business. Monitoring & Reporting:

Deliver timely HSE performance reports, including legionella control, air testing, and blood testing. Person Specification: Essential: 2-5 years of hands-on experience in an HSE role, ideally within a manufacturing or similar environment. NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety. Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively at all levels. Highly disciplined with a focus on clarity, best practice, and results. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Desirable: Experience in a high-performing, medium-sized business or a major corporation. Further or higher education in an HSE-related field. Experience with BSI 45001 and BSI 14001 accreditation. Strong leadership capabilities with a passion for achieving world-class safety performance.
