Provide HR generalist expertise as part of the Senior Management team working closely with Managers on all aspects of HR. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR department. Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives. Manage recruitment and selection processes working closely with Managers. Prepare offer letters and contracts, obtain references, conduct eligibility to work in the UK checks and coordinate the administration of the new starter process ensuring all relevant documentation and paperwork is returned. Keep abreast of developments in employment legislation and ensure managers are appropriately briefed on relevant changes and new legislation. Drive forward best practice and ensure compliance with all group procedures, policies and employment legislation. Act as an advisor to both employees and Management, addressing employee concerns and managing all aspects of disciplinary actions with fairness and discretion. Prepare and accurately document employee investigations ensuring best practice is always followed and ensure the process is completed in a timely manner. Advise and support line managers when considering whether further action, i.e., disciplinary action, is needed. Oversee appraisal processes and assist managers in driving high performance. Schedule staff reviews for the first 3 months of employment. Prepare assessment criteria, time and attendance records and ensure the review accurately reflects the feedback given. Coordinate with Senior Management team training and development programs. Foster a positive working environment and promote company values. Adhere to GDPR and maintain integrity and confidentiality at all times. HR Manager Requirements:
Previous experience in a HR Manager role or looking to take the next step into Management in a growing business, ideally within manufacturing; other transferable industries will be considered. Full UK driving licence with the flexibility to travel where needed. CIPD level 5 or working towards/equivalent experience. Ability to solve problems and be trusted in resolving challenging situations, continually driving forward best practice and ensuring compliance with all company procedures. Experience in working collaboratively with all levels of a business, building confidence in managers to take more ownership of day-to-day HR issues. Analytical and comfortable with monthly reporting and managing HR systems. Flexibility in your approach to work, and ability to travel to different sites on occasion is a must. Experience of coaching Managers in delivering HR related activities. Able to take a very hands-on approach with administration, while also thinking operationally and strategically. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. Up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation. Excellent communication skills, able to meet deadlines.
