As a Materials Manager, you will be key to the seamless execution of manufacturing processes by managing the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials. This role demands a combination of logistical expertise, inventory management, and strategic planning to optimise costs while enhancing efficiency and maintaining quality standards.

£45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Key tasks of a Materials Manager

Inventory Management:

Manage inventory levels to maintain an optimal balance, avoiding overstocking or shortages. Implement and oversee inventory tracking systems, conduct regular stock audits, and drive initiatives to reduce excess inventory. Procurement:

Build and sustain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the timely delivery of high-quality materials at cost-effective rates. Negotiate contracts and terms to maximise the company's financial advantage. Supply Chain Coordination:

Collaborate with production, planning, and engineering teams to accurately forecast material requirements. Manage logistics for incoming shipments to ensure alignment with production timelines. Quality Control:

Verify that all incoming materials adhere to strict quality standards. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve any discrepancies or non-conformances. Budget Management:

Oversee the materials budget by handling forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting on material expenses. Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure adherence to all applicable industry regulations, including RoHS, REACH, and other standards relevant to electronic manufacturing.

You will play an active role within the Production Team by identifying production critical processes and critical success factors. Managing the Performance Measurement Process (PMP), Training files and ISO Matrix and co-ordinating with other departments in order to facilitate issue resolution and participate in cross functional team projects.
