This is an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Occupational Therapist to work in our Accident and Emergency and Emergency Floor Integrated Team at St. Richard's Hospital Chichester. We are looking for Occupational Therapists with proven experience of working in a fast-paced emergency department setting for admission avoidance at the front door. Candidates must be able to commit to working on a 7-day rota. We offer regular formal and informal supervision with an annual personal development review and a comprehensive mandatory training programme. Continuing professional development is highly valued and we provide in-service training programmes and access to external learning opportunities. Main Duties of the Job

To provide a wide range of highly specialised Occupational Therapy interventions as part of an evidence-based, flexible and patient-centred approach with a specific aim of avoiding unnecessary admissions and facilitating timely discharges, to meet the health and social care needs of adults and children who are referred via the Emergency Floor, Accident and Emergency Department, and the Urgent Treatment Centre. To perform a rapid and comprehensive specialist Occupational Therapy role for patients referred to the postholder's clinical team with complex health, mental health, and social care needs. To provide supervision and leadership for relevant junior members of staff and students on practice placement. About Us

Experience/Qualifications

Diploma in Occupational Therapy or BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy or overseas equivalent Evidence of relevant post-graduate clinical courses/CPD and reflective practice Experience of supervising less experienced staff and students Experience of working in a range of clinical specialties e.g.: cardiac; respiratory medicine; palliative care/end of life; dementia care, frailty, orthopaedics. Experience in managing a team. Evidence of post-graduate management courses or training Experience in handling complaints and disputes Recruitment and Selection training and experience Skills

High level of clinical skill in speciality area and ability to teach those skills (to own and other professions) Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in a crisis Ability to prioritise clinical and non-clinical work Teamwork and co-operation. Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team Relevant experience, including work at Band 7 level within the speciality Experience in strategic planning and formulating business plans People Management and Development

Experience in assessment of competency of other members of staff and managing poor performance Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams Experience of Supervising and conducting Appraisals Experience of giving presentations to OT colleagues and to audiences of mixed professional backgrounds Management training course/module Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
