To realise our ambition, we are looking for an inspiring individual to join the Council as a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner. This is far more than a traditional health and safety role; we want someone who is passionate about wanting to make a real difference to the lives of others, who can live and breathe our values and who is up for a challenge! About the Role

Our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner will work with select services: Providing authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety matters to all stakeholders in services across the Council. Conducting and reviewing risk assessments and audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. Collaborating with managers at all levels to support health, safety and wellbeing excellence. Driving behavioural change across the Council. Writing engaging communications and delivering training to employees at all levels. About you

Significant experience in a similar health, safety and wellbeing role, preferably within a large, complex organisation. A relevant health and safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate (essential), NEBOSH Diploma (preferred) or equivalent. Investigation skills to implement health and safety systems, oversee accident investigations and identify training needs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills to influence, persuade and motivate others to adopt safer working practices. Data analysis skills to identify themes and trends and report on these to leadership teams with recommendations for action/improvement. A proactive and systematic approach to work, with strong organisational skills. Chartered membership with a professional body such as IOSH or CIEH (preferred but not essential). It is really important that you are able to evidence in your covering letter how your existing knowledge, skills and experience matches the HSW BP role profile.
