Full time | 40 hours per week Karoo Group has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Support Worker who will lead by example, advocating for the young person, maximising their choices, rights, and decision-making, while making a significant difference in the lives of young people within our newly opened solo provision located in the Cambridgeshire countryside. Duties include; Leadership and Supervision:
Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to a team of Support Workers, ensuring consistent and high-quality care for the young person. Corporate Parenting:
Take on the role of a corporate parent, providing young people with love, care, and direction. Trauma-Informed Practice:
Connect with and build meaningful relationships with children and young people who have had complex early lives, working within the Trauma-Informed model. Safeguarding:
Ensure the protection and safeguarding of young people in our care and take immediate action when the welfare or safety of young people is at risk. Playfulness,

ACE): Positive Behaviour Support (PBS):
Embed PLACE and PBS practices, creating an environment that supports the young person’s development while promoting positive outcomes. Advocacy:
Ensure that the wishes, thoughts, and feelings of young people are heard and acted upon. Quality Assurance:
Support the Residential Home Manager in exceeding expectations during inspections and Regulation 44 visits by delivering positive outcomes for our young people. Routine and Activities:
Actively participate in and support activities with our young people, attending all necessary appointments, and managing structured routines. Crisis Intervention:
Manage complex behaviours and support young people during crisis situations with appropriate intervention strategies. Holistic Care:
Provide care and support encompassing all physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of the young people. Administrative Support:
Assist the Residential Home Manager in administrative tasks such as record-keeping, planning, and reporting as required. Team Collaboration:
Foster a collaborative and supportive environment among team members to achieve the best outcomes for young people. Other Duties:
Undertake additional responsibilities commensurate with the level and nature of the post as required. Person Specification Qualifications:
Professional qualification in (recognised and current) QCF Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent, with a willingness to work towards QCF Level 5 if not already obtained. Experience:
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Children’s Residential setting, including experience managing or mentoring staff. Skills:
The ability to engage effectively with young people who have behaviours that challenge and complex emotional needs. Flexibility:
Ability to work required shift patterns, including weekends, overnights, late shifts, and bank holidays. Driving:
Full UK driving license and use of a vehicle for business purposes. Leadership Abilities:
Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills to effectively supervise and support team members.
