The post holder is required to work within a Multidisciplinary Team with adults and children with a learning disability and associated complex health needs. The post holder will be responsible for taking on appropriate assessment of a person's needs and undertaking interventions that aim to improve their quality of life and achieve positive outcomes. This will include planning how to do this alongside other professionals within the team. The post holder will provide education, knowledge, guidance, and support to student nurses and unqualified staff in the team, as well as support to clients and their families. Main duties of the job

Qualifications

RNLD Experience

Experience in learning disability services Broad range of experience working in health & social care settings Knowledge

Demonstrate a good understanding of Learning Disability, including Mental Health, Forensics, Challenging Behaviour, and PLD/Complex Health Awareness of current developments within a clinical setting Completed training in mentoring & assessing student nurses Awareness of current developments within Learning Disability services Understanding of clinical governance Personal Qualities

Ability to communicate clearly and accurately Ability to adapt to new and changing circumstances Self-motivated Commitment to continuous improvements to clients' care Skills

Ability to prioritise and work proactively Ability to manage a designated caseload without direct supervision OTHER RELEVANT REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work as part of a team Flexible approach to the needs of the service Lone worker Ability to travel between locations in a timely manner WELSH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
