An exciting opportunity has risen within the Langley Green Hospital on Coral Ward. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, and inspiring Band 5 Staff Nurse / preceptorship Nurse to join our team on Coral Ward. We are a 19 bedded ward based in Langley Green Hospital in Crawley. Crawley is situated closely to London and Brighton and benefits from a thriving, vibrant and diverse community. Coral Ward has an experienced team and works collaboratively with other wards and services within the hospital and the wider community.

This post offers the Trust's £4,000 Incentive for band 5-7 Nurses & Practitioners, as well as a relocation package up to a maximum of £8,000 (subject to terms and conditions).

Main duties of the job

As a staff nurse / preceptorship nurse, your responsibilities will be to:

Uphold our core values of promoting openness, transparency and learning. Effectively run the shift and attend regular meetings to review and monitor patients' care plans. Build relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns. Ensure the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitor side effects. Accurately record patient information and communicate with other MDT staff regarding patient care needs. Offer support and supervise the practice of junior staff and student Nurses in order to ensure safe and effective nursing practice within a secure environment. Perform administrative duties, involved in the screening, assessment and follow up support of patients. Provide care and support to patients and families and work effectively as part of the wider Multidisciplinary team.

Work a flexible shift pattern which includes Long Days (07:00 - 19:30) and Nights (19:00 - 07:30) including weekends and bank holidays.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role.

Knowledge/Experience

Essential Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007). Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005), to include practical knowledge of FACE documentation, DOLS and Best Interest decisions. Child and Adult safeguarding procedures. Change management, organising and prioritising workloads. Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence-based knowledge. Demonstrate professional development relevant to the care group. Demonstrates ability to assess and manage clinical risk.
