As a daycare assistant and driver, you will be responsible for your dogs from the moment they are collected. You will be provided with a company van to pick up/drop home dogs and will be responsible for planning your daily route. At daycare, you will be required to walk groups of dogs of all breeds and sizes and also to stimulate the dogs through activities and enrichment. We pride ourselves on returning dogs home clean so you will be required to wash and dry the dogs after muddy walks/wet weather. General cleaning of the daycare throughout the day will also be expected. We look for individuals who posses a strong ability to use their own initiative, are trustworthy and have great communication skills. You will be driving the dogs in a medium sized van so please only apply if you feel comfortable driving this type of vehicle. The Mucky Hound is predominantly an outdoor daycare so you will get muddy, wet and cold. If this is something you are not comfortable with, then this is not the job for you! Requirements: Previous experience of working with dogs. It is not sufficient just being a dog owner or having family pets as the role is demanding Confident and calm around dogs, particularly in a fast paced environment Have an understanding of dog behaviour and management Passion and interest for dogs and their development A social, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who can confidently work in a team and alone Must be physically fit as this is an active role requiring lifting, bending etc Comfortable working with and managing groups of dogs of all sizes and breeds Willing to work in all types of weather, rain or shine Responsible and trustworthy Excellent communication skills Basic IT knowledge and ideally competent with social media platforms Full clean UK driving licence (due to insurance restrictions, applicants must be 21 years+) Due to the location of our daycare facility, you must live within a 30 minute commute of TN1 (Tunbridge Wells) Key Responsibilities: Driving The Mucky Hound company vehicle to collect, transport and return dogs safely to and from daycare and their home Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness of daycare and company vehicle, clearing up and cleaning regularly Walking the dogs in groups, 1-2-1 sessions, engaging in training and breed specific activities Washing and grooming dogs to ensure they are returned home clean Implementing training plans and enrichment exercises Being observant and reporting any signs of illness or behaviour problems Preparing food and feeding the puppies who require lunch Always working on self improvement and increasing canine knowledge Ensuring a high level of personal hygiene and physical presentation.
