Clinical Fellow ST3 in A&E with Specialist Interest in PEM

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust

In recent GMC training surveys, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust have consistently received excellent feedback regarding the culture, education and training provided to our doctors in Emergency Medicine. Clinical role: Tier 3 rota - predominantly covering PEM, but would be expected to also work across the ED as required. Non-Clinical role: Aid with development of PEM across the EDs. Split 60:40 (non-clinical time would predominantly be taken from in-hours rota). Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will work on our annualised rota which has been recently re-designed to encourage a good work life balance. During clinical time, you will be expected to focus on the assessment and early management of patients who are acutely ill and injured as well as treating patients with less serious illnesses and injuries. About us

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust are proud providers of acute hospital services. We value our staff and recognise that they are our greatest asset. Working with our forward-thinking fantastic leadership team, we have made significant changes in the way we work to meet the challenges of the changing NHS. CHFT is at the forefront of Digital Health utilising several electronic solutions to improve patient care. The CQC have rated us as Good and their report confirmed that "staff were caring and provided compassionate care; patients were treated with dignity and respect and their privacy was respected; patients spoke positively about the care they received". Our Future Plans The Department of Health and Social Care has awarded capital funding to invest in local health services at both Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. This is a significant investment and an opportunity to enhance services for our populations in Calderdale and Huddersfield and West Yorkshire for generations to come. Job responsibilities

We are inviting applications in the Emergency Medicine Department at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust for Clinical Fellows at ST3 Level. Although not recognised training posts, there is access to regular weekly teaching with the intention that the service commitment, supervision level and educational opportunities will be equivalent to that of our existing trainees and mirrors a training post in every way. You will be offered first class training and development opportunities to enhance your career. This job would be ideally suited for doctors taking time out after the completion of their foundation training who have a keen interest in a career in emergency medicine and would like to develop their portfolio. At CHFT we like to look after our doctors and have received very positive feedback in the GMC national training surveys. For this post we are willing to consider applicants who wish to work LTFT and those who would prefer an entirely clinical role. We have recently expanded our junior doctor numbers in order to provide better rotas to allow a good work life balance and continue to strive to achieve an even better balance in the coming years. If you want to join a supportive and friendly team providing compassionate care, then come and join us to help achieve outstanding in the next CQC inspection.
