We are seeking an Assistant Psychologist to work in a Community Learning Disability Service in the Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale area of North Yorkshire, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Based at Eastfield Clinic in Scarborough, with good public transport links to bus, road and rail, you will be working within a friendly, small and supportive multi-disciplinary team, primarily supporting the practitioner Psychologist. The team is values-led and passionate about delivering the highest standard of care to our local people who live with a Learning Disability and an associated health need. To work alongside clients, families, support workers, and professionals to provide a psychologically based understanding of clients' needs. To provide a range of assessments and interventions for people with learning disabilities and their families/carers, including assisting in the delivery of Dementia and Eligibility Pathways. To work across a variety of settings, including residential and day services, and closely with the multi-disciplinary team. To support psychological provision in the locality, for example, through the maintenance and updating of the psychology referrals database. To support the MDT through indirect working, including involvement in case discussions, team formulations, and reflective practice spaces. Assisting the coordination and running of training sessions to increase the knowledge and skills of the appropriate stakeholders. To assist with research and evaluation of the local service. You will receive regular clinical supervision from a Practitioner Psychologist. Due to the nature of the role and the geographical area, it would be desirable for the post holder to have a Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle. About us

Qualifications
Degree in psychology. Eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society. Numeracy, Literacy, and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent). Postgraduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice, and/or research design and analysis. Skills
Ability to communicate information (verbal and written) effectively in a manner appropriate to the individual and situation. Record Keeping (within agreed timescale). Compassionate in meeting the needs of vulnerable people and their families and carers. Ability to work on own in a variety of settings using initiative appropriately. Competence in using psychometric assessment tools (within agreed timescale). Methodical and accurate approach to data collection and analysis. Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle. Experience working with people with mental ill health or learning disabilities (paid or voluntary). Experience as a psychology assistant (paid or voluntary). Experience of clinical audit, research, or service evaluation. Knowledge
