Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated practitioner with safeguarding experience to join our integrated Safeguarding Team, working full time within the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. The integrated Safeguarding team is made up of all the professionals working to safeguard adults and children, including the Paediatric Liaison Nurse, Child Death Lead Nurse, and Learning Disability Nurses. The post holder will support the team in progressing the safeguarding agenda, including promoting the Think Family principles when contributing to the improvement of safeguarding systems and processes, the development of policies, procedures, and guidance, delivering training, supervision, and expert advice to colleagues across the Trust. The post holder will have line management of the Paediatric Liaison Service and will develop close links with the Child Death Review Lead Nurse to support child death notifications and key-worker arrangements. The applicant must have experience working with children and families with safeguarding concerns, working in complex and challenging environments, and working independently. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills and competencies in safeguarding, working in both acute and community services. The post holder will be based at the Rotherham hospital site. Interviews will be held on 10th February 2025.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Evidence of ongoing professional training and development related to safeguarding practice (including, for example, MCA, MHA, DOLS, Child Protection, Domestic Abuse, Law, and policy) Degree level education or proven experience at this level
Desirable Have completed specific training in the care of babies/children and young people and be registered on either Current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse or Midwife's Part of the Register as a Registered Midwife Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Have completed specific post-registration training in safeguarding (including law, policy, and practice at Level 2 or Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) Health-related Master's degree in a relevant subject
