About the Team

The UK HR team is a team of 12, including this role. This includes Recruitment, L&D and Operations, as well as a proactive HR Generalist team. As ambassadors of the culture, HR aims to offer a best in class level of service across the firm, in an approachable and friendly way. The team is structured to provide generalist support to all areas of the business as well as take part in strategic projects. We are at an exciting point in time, navigating new ways of working as the firm continues to grow, our integration into the wider Newmark Global HR team continues - the HR team are central in managing a wide range of projects to drive process improvement.

Job Description

This role will be a key member of the HR team, providing both strategic and operational expert HR advice to a number of dedicated business groups (circa 200-250 people) as well as working with the Senior HR Manager and global HR team to drive our strategy and add value to the firm through projects and process improvement. This role will also play a key part in delivering our D&I strategy in the UK.

We are a busy team, and central to our success is ongoing process improvement and the ability to provide a proactive HR service to the firm, it is critical that this role can drive this change forward.

Main responsibilities

- Provide expert HR knowledge to designated business groups - Have full responsibility for designated business groups and all their HR needs, delegating to HR advisor and HR Operations where appropriate - Work closely with Partners to provide long term, proactive, people planning including talent management, succession planning, culture, budgeting, recruitment and analysing training & development needs. - Work with our Talent and Recruitment teams to support our early careers programmes - You will be keen to take a leading role in implementing our diversity & inclusion agenda, sitting on the DEI Committee and building relationships with our external partners. - You will promote diversity & inclusion continuously and develop progressive plans with business areas to promote and improve diversity, including through the analysis of DEI metrics and implement talent development plans with diverse pipelines to ensure workforce and skills for the future. - You will partner with the business on organisation design initiatives and lead the business through change projects including communication, consultation, implementation and change management - Assist in the creation, roll out and implementation of new processes and process improvement - Assist in the creation, roll out and implementation of new benefits and reward tools - Improve our use and analysis of data to help improve people-related decision making and reporting - Oversee and input into the annual processes such as performance management and salary review for your business groups - Coach Partners through employee relations, change management and difficult conversations - Lead on HR projects such as job evaluation, restructures, updating our talent management and performance management processes, our HR System, and our implementation of our competency framework in conjunction with our L&D team - Ad hoc requirements as needed by the business and in line with your role - Input into and help implement the HR Strategy for the UK alongside Senior HR Manager and CHRO.

About you

- Have experience of HR Operations in mid-sized and larger firms and can bring new ideas and knowledge - Up to date knowledge of employment law and best practice, knowledge of European HR best practice is advantageous - Be passionate and confident when dealing with organisational change and transformation projects - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ideally experience in managing TUPE - Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with an ability to delegate and prioritise effectively - Ability to quickly gain trust and credibility by providing sound, practical advice - Experience working in an LLP is advantageous and/or a global US HQ based organization - A passion for generalist HR – happy to muck in as well as able to stand back and provide more strategic advice and insight - Experience in driving inclusivity in a business - Experience mentoring HR professionals - Be commercially minded and can use this to provide appropriate advice as well as challenge - Ability to demonstrate your ability to deliver and drive change - Exemplary stakeholder management skills - Highly numerical and analytical - Personable and friendly style
