Job Description
We are working with a well-respected medium-sized M&E contractor with a strong presence delivering across the commercial, healthcare, and life science sectors for leading main contractors who are looking for a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their London business unit. Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director who is based in London, you will be part of an experienced preconstruction team working across 3-4 live commercial/life sciences projects and new tenders. As the Mechanical Estimator, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of mechanical projects. From initial tender inquiries to final submission, you will manage the entire estimation process, utilizing the company software to price up mechanical packages effectively.
Preparing detailed estimates for large scale commercial and life sciences projects, with mechanical packages ranging from £5m - £10m upwards. Managing the tendering process, ensuring timely and accurate submission of tenders. Reviewing and interpreting project drawings, specifications, and client requirements to produce accurate costings. Sourcing and negotiating prices with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and cost-effective bids. Using software to generate estimates and pricing for ductwork and pipefitting installations. Liaising closely with the Preconstruction Director and Project Managers to ensure estimates align with project goals and budgets.
