NHS Ayrshire & Arran - Home (nhsaaa.net) Position An opportunity has arisen for a Macmillan Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist – Lung at University Hospital Ayr. What you will do: The Macmillan Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) provides holistic care and support to patients and their families with lung cancers. Specialist nursing advice and care is provided throughout the patient pathway (including diagnosis, chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy, and end of life) with the ACNS acting as a key worker as well as a core member of the multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who seeks to further develop their skills, experience, and career. You will require cancer experience and should possess advanced communication skills and a passion for quality patient care. Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job: Registered general nurse First degree plus relevant post-graduate diploma Short courses to master's level equivalent Considerable experience in this specialty required Leadership skills enhanced by relevant skills/training and experience Ability to work in a complex clinical environment Hours: 28 per week - days of work will depend on experience but include Mon (UHC)/Thu (UHA).
