Modality LLP is a large-scale provider of NHS Outpatient Services, renowned for its innovative approach to delivering efficient pathways for patients requiring specialist care, leading to high-quality patient outcomes. We work in LLP with a number of hospitals across the country to collaboratively redesign outpatient services with more care being delivered in community settings. We are looking for an experienced community Audiologist who has the skills, knowledge, and experience to coordinate and provide holistic outpatient diagnostic audiology testing to patients. The position will be primarily based in Hull, at West Hull Health Hub as well as Castle Hill Hospital. Duties will include but are not limited to the following: To participate in hearing aid services for NHS and private patients, including: Assisting with assessment of new patients referred via GP Selection and fitting of appropriate hearing aids together with instruction to the patient or carers and advice on use. Follow-up visits to assess patients benefit and give further advice or training where required. Reassessment appointments to re-evaluate the needs of patients whose hearing has deteriorated and fit appropriate hearing aids. Undertaking walk-in repair clinics to deal with maintenance, repairs, and advice to existing users. About us

Experience

Previous experience working within the acute healthcare sector. 2 years post-graduate experience. Experience of customer care, including interacting with challenging customers and situations. Qualifications

BSc Audiology or Post Graduate Diploma in Audiology or pre-2004, Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) B-TEC and British Association of Audiological Technicians (BAAT) part I & II, with training in Clinical Certificate of Competency. Knowledge

Registered with the HCPC as a Clinical Scientist in Audiology or a Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser, or with the RCCP voluntary register. Where the Government's MSC programme brings about changes to registration requirements, audiologists must be registered accordingly. Evidence of appropriate and recognised training (including CPD) to conduct hearing assessments and rehabilitation, including the provision of patient education related to hearing loss and hearing aids. Appropriate training, skills, and experience in objective measurements (e.g. REM) of digital signal processing (DSP) hearing aids. Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of clinical software and systems. Experience of working in a healthcare environment in a similar capacity, preferably within Primary or Secondary Care. Personal Qualities

Has the ability to identify and solve problems, analyse, compare, and interpret complex information before reaching a judgement and making a decision. Able to establish and maintain relationships within the healthcare team. Communicates complex, sensitive information to patients, relatives, and carers. Understands and overcomes barriers to communication including patients with multiple sensory impairments, special needs, and learning disabilities. Knowledge of alternative communication methods and tactics for dealing with hearing impaired people. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
