ASD Support Worker - Maidenhead Do you have a passion for helping young vulnerable children succeed? Are you looking for a role that will be fulfilling while also making a huge positive impact? Then read on because this is the role for you! An excellent Specialist school in Maidenhead is looking for an ASD Support Worker to join their team starting as soon as possible. This school helps children who have Autism as their main diagnosis cope and manage with their education while providing the best education possible. This school takes inclusivity very seriously, and the head teacher goes above and beyond to ensure that students are taken care of. These students have ASD as their main diagnosis, and with ASD often comes a variety of other learning difficulties. These students may also struggle with OCD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, verbal difficulties, and language processing disorders. As an ASD Support Worker, your main duties will be to help students cope with their school work and to encourage and facilitate a safe and fun environment where learning can take place. You will support students on every step of their academic journey. While your main priority is to be there for the students, you will also support the class teacher. Your duties will range from helping to set up lessons, tidying up afterwards, decorating the classroom with relevant topics, and providing general supervision of the children. You will have the advantage of shadowing the class teacher and being exposed to a variety of methods and techniques, learning how best to support these children. Such a fulfilling job! The successful Autism Support Worker will have a positive attitude above all. You will be passionate about making a difference and helping children achieve their best. You will be resilient, confident, and able to adapt your approach to the needs of each child. Experience working with children, especially those with ASD, will be beneficial. Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, and other related fields are most welcome to apply, as well as those with backgrounds in sports, music, art, and drama.
