We are seeking an additional Health Care Assistant with an interest in nutrition and caring for long-term patients to join our specialist service at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust supporting patients with a complex and rare condition known as intestinal failure. Full training will be provided in relation to the specialty. The intestinal failure unit (IFU) is a nationally designated specialist service which receives complex surgical patients from all over the UK. Being one of two National Reference Centers (NRC) in the country, the IFU at Salford has developed a strong reputation for being an international center of excellence for medical and surgical care. The role would suit somebody with experience in caring for patients with stomas and who understands the complex nature of managing patients with complex long-term conditions. Main Duties of the Job
You will work as part of the nursing team delivering care for adults with complex Intestinal Failure (IF). The role is instrumental in supporting patients with IF during their transition from inpatient to community care. This will involve direct contact with inpatients, carers, and other health care professionals (HCPs). You will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, providing excellent care delivery. Full training will be provided for all cares appropriate to HCA within the field of Intestinal Failure. This will include performing clinical observations, weighing patients, meal delivery, managing complex stoma care, and providing holistic care to all patients within the hospital setting. About Us
