We have an exciting position available for a qualified Practice Nurse that has previous experience working in a primary care environment to join our team at Camberley Health Centre.

The position is part-time but we are open to discussion around working days and hours alongside a competitive salary.

Main duties of the job The Practice Nurse will be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practice's multidisciplinary team who provide care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. You will be supported by our clinical and management team but must be able to work independently.

Job responsibilities Key responsibilities and duties:

Management responsibilities including IPC and immunisation lead, nursing team reviews and appraisals.

Develop, implement and embed health promotion and well-being programmes.

Chronic Disease Management.

Cervical Screening Smear tests.

Wound care to patients (Ulcer/Doppler etc.).

Implementing vaccination programmes for adults and children.

Adult Immunisations.

Assisting GPs with minor surgery when required.

Person Specification Experience

Experience of working in a primary care environment.

Experience of chronic disease management including Diabetes.

Experience of working as a practice nurse or community nurse.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse.

Skills

Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

Clear, polite telephone manner.

Competent in the use of Office and Outlook.

Effective time management (planning and organising).

Ability to work as a team member and autonomously.

Good interpersonal skills.

Problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure.

Clinical Knowledge and Skills

Wound care including complex dressings/removal of sutures and staples.

ECGs.

Venepuncture.

New patient medicals.

Chaperone procedure.

Requesting pathology tests and processing the results, advising patients accordingly.

CHD.

Immunisations (routine, childhood and travel).

Women’s health (Cervical cytology, contraception etc.).

Understands the importance of evidence-based practice.

Broad knowledge of clinical governance.

Ability to record accurate clinical notes.

Ability to work within own scope of practice and to understand when to refer to GPs.

Knowledge of health promotion strategies.

Understands the requirement for PGDs and associated policy.

£18.81 to £24.81 an hour, Depending on experience.
