SF are proud to be supporting this industry leading organisation based in South Derbyshire, as they look for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on what will initially be a 12 month FTC basis, with a view to permanent employment at the end.

The role: Assist the finance team with month-end responsibilities. Collaborate closely with the finance department to perform daily accounting functions. Work alongside the operations team to conduct stock assessments and audits. Generate timely and accurate reports as needed. Prepare draft monthly management accounts pack to present to management for review. Explain variances to budget and prior year in management accounts. Prepare accruals, prepayments, and inter-company journals. Manage the balance sheet reconciliation process ensuring completion, content, and accuracy. Involvement with weekly stock takes with weekly spot checks carried out. Conduct monthly/quarterly stock audits. Produce monthly departmental expenditure reports for department heads. Perform weekly steel reporting and reconciliation. Conduct weekly factory labour reporting and analysis. Build a good relationship with the operations team. Ensure adherence to reporting requirements and deadlines on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis. Support the finance team in all matters relating to the preparation, provision, and resolution of queries relating to the audit of the company's financial records. Complete ad hoc reports/project work and analysis as required.

This is a full-time role on a 12 month FTC initially then moving into permanent employment. You will be working 40 hours per week, with 4 days in office and 1 at home.

About you: The ideal candidate will be part qualified, have the ability to talk to people of varying levels, have experience in monthly budget variance analysis, and be a strong Excel user. You will also be confident in stock audits, spot checks, and building relationships.
