Director (Two Posts) The EPA is an independent regulatory body, established under the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992. The purpose of the EPA is to protect, improve and restore our environment through regulation, scientific knowledge and working with others. Reporting to the Director General, a director has a dual role, as a Board Member and with Executive responsibilities for leading the work of one of the Offices of the EPA. There are two upcoming vacancies: Director of the Office of Communications and Corporate Services Director of the Office of Radiation Protection and Environmental Monitoring Office of Communication and Corporate Services (OCCS) The Office of Communication and Corporate Services (OCCS) is responsible for a wide range of support functions for the 550 staff across the EPA, such as human resource management, learning and development, health safety and welfare, facilities management, financial management, corporate governance, communications and information & communication technology. Office of Radiation Protection and Environmental Monitoring (ORM) The Office of Radiation Protection and Environmental Monitoring (ORM) has a wide range of functions across areas including air, water, radiation, noise, chemicals, nuclear safety & emergency preparedness, Strategic Environmental Assessment and State of Environment Reporting. It is also the environmental regulator for Uisce Éireann, along with other responsibilities in relation to water services oversight and enforcement. Essential Requirements for these Posts: An appropriate qualification (minimum NFQ Level 8) in Science, Engineering or in another relevant discipline. Significant knowledge/experience in relation to environmental and/or radiological protection matters. A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience to include a minimum of 5 years senior management experience with a proven track record of significant achievement as a leader and senior manager in a medium or large sized organisation.
