Interim Financial Accountant

Location: Truro, Cornwall Duration: January 2025 - June 2025 Type: Full-Time, Temporary Working Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote) Rate: £400 - £450 per day (depending on experience) Application Deadline: ASAP (interviews to be conducted promptly via Teams)

About the Role:

Hays are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Interim Financial Accountant to join a large manufacturing establishment in Truro on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for professionals looking to make a significant impact within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Ideally, you will also have a good working knowledge of statutory accounts and experience working within the manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including year-end accounts and balance sheets. Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, ensuring financial targets are met. Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide actionable insights. Year-End Processes: Manage year-end financial processes, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to provide financial support and guidance. Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.

Ideal Candidate: Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment, though this is not essential. Qualifications: Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) are highly desirable. Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial software. Attributes: Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
