18/12/2024 At Swindon Borough Council, we want our town to be the best it can be. Our ambitious vision in the new Swindon Plan is supported by realistic transformation programmes, with the people of Swindon at their heart. As part of the Council, you’ll support a friendly local authority making decisions with real impact. It’s all for better public services, better processes, and a better quality of life for everyone. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Occupational Therapist to join our community team on a permanent basis. Come and join a passionate, innovative, and child-centred therapy team based at The Salt Way Centre in West Swindon. Salt Way is a specialist centre for children’s therapies – Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech & Language Therapy, as well as the disabled children’s social work team and a specialist early years centre for children with complex needs. We work with children from 0-18 years with a wide range of conditions in a variety of settings, including clinics, patients' homes, mainstream, and special schools. You would be responsible for managing a varied caseload of children and young people, including the delivery of specialist educational provision. Candidates must demonstrate a broad range of clinical experience and be ready to develop specialist clinical skills in paediatric Occupational Therapy. Training and support are provided by experienced clinicians to support your ongoing development. You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”). As an employee, you will receive a diverse and exciting environment in which to work, encouraging creativity and innovation whilst recognising the need to support ongoing personal development and a flexible work-life balance. Potential applicants are sometimes put off if they don’t meet 100% of the requirements. We think individual experience, skills, and passion make all the difference, so if you meet the majority of the criteria, we’d love to hear from you. Your Next Steps Read the Role Profile and select the Apply button where you will be redirected to the NHS Jobs website.
