Position: Assistant Cook As part of our catering team, you will be performing a variety of tasks to help prepare and cook tasty, nutritious meals from locally sourced fresh produce. We are currently recruiting an Assistant Cook to join our team at Christopher Pickering School. As an Assistant Cook, your role will be to support the cook in preparing and cooking home-cooked nutritious food within a budget, following all food legislation and maintaining an effective catering service operating to the highest standards of food safety. On a daily basis, you will carry out food preparation, cooking, serving meals to students and staff, and assist the cook in managing/monitoring your team, food ordering, managing stock, maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment, and recording and documenting all relevant information following our food safety management system. At this site, you will work alongside the cook in charge and several catering assistants. You will be a valued member of our friendly team who is reliable, dependable, and committed, working between your operational hours of 8.15 am to 13.45 pm, totaling 27.5 hours per week over 5 days. No weekend work! You will work term-time weeks only; however, you will receive equal monthly payments throughout the year. You will be paid £12.45-£13.05 per hour in addition to annual holiday and Bank Holiday entitlement. What can we offer you?
