They're the values that make us LNER. What you will be doing: We have an exciting opportunity to join our Finance Team in a brand-new role as a Finance Analyst. Reporting into our Senior Finance Business Partner, our Finance Analyst will offer excellent business insight through a data-driven mindset, to ensure that LNER has improved financial analysis for growth and efficiency. Working closely and building effective relationships with Finance and non-finance Managers within the commercial departments, this role will be involved in maximising profitable, value for money and commercial opportunities. You'll also be involved in: Leading a programme of corporate analysis to highlight areas of financial/process improvement in support of the business' objectives. Developing periodic reporting regimes to provide appropriate financial information in support of internal and external stakeholders. Monitoring and analysing financial performance against objectives, identifying risks and opportunities, and other issues and corrective action required if necessary. Producing critiques of reporting unit results to support the Management Business Reviews, highlighting areas of potential inefficiency and efficiency savings. Delivering a periodic reporting process that helps drive ownership and accountability within the business, pro-actively identifying opportunities to streamline and increase efficiency. Assisting in business case analysis and development through knowledge of relevant business areas and through awareness of broader market conditions. Driving and challenging the business to adopt a cost-conscious culture via review of cost centre spend, highlighting insights and identifying trends for action planning. Collaborating across industry partners to offer support, guidance, and share best practice. Delivering accurate and timely reports for the function that are fit for purpose and can be consistently relied upon for decision-making purposes. What do we need you to have? To be our Finance Analyst, you should have the following competencies and skills: CCAB or CIMA recognised qualification or be actively working towards completing. Proven analytical skills within a data-driven mindset. Knowledge of Oracle, Tableau, and Microsoft Office. Experience of systems and process implementation and improvement.
