Senior Support Worker – Residential Children’s Service
Location: Great Barr B42
Salary: Up to £31,120 dependent on number of sleeps **
Hours: Average 40 hours per week (1 on, 2 off rota)
Salary of £25,300 – £26,800 and sleep in rates of £60. ** £31,120 based on 6 sleep ins per month.

We are a specialist provider of care and support to children and young people who have complex Learning Disabilities or EBD. Care Perspectives ensures positive memories and experiences for our children that last a lifetime and achieve the best outcomes that nurture independence.
In this Residential Home, you will be part of a dedicated family unit providing effective safeguarding for up to 3 young people in our care.
What would be expected from me to be a Senior Support Worker?
Have an NVQ 3 or 4 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce, Children’s Residential Care or equivalent.
Have at least one year’s experience working in a Children’s Residential setting, as a care worker, support worker or residential children’s support worker.
Be able to work an average of 40 hours per week, on a 1 on 2 off rota.
Ideally have experience of working with or caring for children, but more importantly, have life skills from a range of backgrounds as we can train the rest.
Excellent communicator.
Basic computer skills are essential.
Flexible and hardworking.
Kind and caring.
Driving Licence.
What will I be doing as a Senior Support Worker?
Provide leadership to the team, always acting as a positive role model.
Carry out and complete daily shift planning and handover.
Provide effective supervision of your team in line with the Care Regulations.
Motivate, support and mentor the staff.
Carry out an essential and varied role to provide the individual support required by the children and young people in our care, complete relevant paperwork, and where appropriate administer medication.
Create positive relationships with the children & young people, meeting their needs and always safeguarding them.
