The Bi-Borough Legal Services Department at Westminster City Council is dedicated to transforming lives through various projects aimed at improving the community. As a Solicitor, you will provide expert professional, procedural, and technical legal guidance on all matters relating to child protection. You will work alongside the Housing and General Litigation Team, handling both routine and complex cases, including high-profile and politically sensitive matters. Your responsibilities will include conducting proceedings, public inquiries, appeals, and judicial reviews, as well as drafting legal documentation and advising on law and evidence. A qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx with at least five years of relevant post-qualification experience, you should have demonstrable experience advising on local authority duties and powers related to children and young adults. With a broad knowledge of Local Government law and the ability to communicate effectively with Council members, you will provide cogent legal advice on standard and complex issues. On a personal level, you should be a natural communicator with excellent negotiating and influencing skills, capable of working independently and as part of a team. What We Offer:
