Specialist Doctor in Critical Care and Anaesthesia NHS Lanarkshire - UH Monklands The successful applicants will contribute to the provision of intensive care medicine as well as general anaesthesia within the main theatre and day surgery unit. Out of hours’ work will be intensive care medicine on the non-resident senior medical rota. There will be flexibility to accommodate interests such as anaesthesia for ENT surgery or colorectal surgery. NHS Lanarkshire is Scotland’s third largest health board and has 3 Acute Hospitals – University Hospital Hairmyres, University Hospital Wishaw and University Hospital Monklands. All services are currently working to design and realise new models of care for the replacement University Hospital Monklands which will be Scotland’s flagship digital hospital, to be built by 2031. Situated in West Central Scotland, University Hospital Monklands is readily accessed from a wide area, allowing commuting from city, suburban and rural locales. The University of Glasgow enjoys close links with NHS Lanarkshire, and our medical students benefit greatly from the excellent educational opportunities provided by the board in both primary and secondary care.
