£37,831 - £46,100 37 Hours per week An opportunity has arisen for a full-time, permanent, Infection Prevention and Control Nurse, delivering a planned programme for infection prevention and control. The initial base for this position will be the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh; however, cover across all NHS Lothian sites will be required. The role of the IPCN is to provide specialist knowledge and education in all aspects of Infection Prevention and Control to multidisciplinary teams and services. You must be a Registered Nurse, with current NMC Registration, and willing to undertake additional specialist training (e.g., Infection Prevention and Control Specialist Practitioner Qualification). A broad range of clinical experience is desirable, with significant clinical practice. The successful candidate will be supported to gain a specialist qualification as an essential part of the role. The post holder may be required to travel between NHS Lothian sites as part of the team. One of the main qualities for this post is the ability to work as part of a team in a busy health care setting. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
