Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager, Hertfordshire, to £50k
This client is a manufacturing company supplying a variety of industries including the Aerospace sector. They are currently looking to recruit a proven Purchasing Manager to join their team. This is a brand new role for the business so the person joining will be able to make an impact. Working with a team of three others, you will be responsible for all purchasing activities including raw materials and consumables. Spend wise it will be c£10 million per annum and will include purchasing from suppliers internationally including countries such as USA, China, India plus countries in Europe.
You will be responsible for:
Managing supply chain.
Managing supplier relationships.
Cost reduction initiatives.
Risk management.
Reporting to senior leadership.
Team development.
Overseeing key contracts and negotiations.
Managing procurement system and processes.
Ensuring compliance with purchasing policies.
As mentioned, you will have proven purchasing skills, you will either be a Purchasing Manager or a Buyer / Senior Buyer ready to make the step up. Knowledge of purchasing Steel would be a distinct advantage. Experience gained within an engineering/manufacturing environment (aerospace/defence beneficial) with ideally knowledge of purchasing from overseas countries.
