Consultiv Utilities are a dynamic and successful energy consultancy based in the North East of England. The successful candidate will be supporting our trading and risk management team who are looking to expand our Risk team with a talented and analytical Risk Analyst. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in market analysis or data and a keen interest in the energy industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing the Energy Risk Management within our Trading department regarding power and gas for a portfolio of flexible supply contract customers. As a Risk Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our trading operations and providing key insights to our clients. Your core responsibilities will include: Market Reporting : Conduct written reviews and analyses of energy markets to keep both internal teams and external clients informed. Market Analysis : Identify and communicate short-, medium-, and long-term market risks and opportunities by analysing data trends, historical patterns, and key drivers. Produce detailed reports highlighting significant market activities, causes, and implications. Trading Support : Manage trade requests from inception to supplier confirmation, ensuring a seamless and accurate process. Risk Management Support : Assist in managing the positions of Inspired Collectives, including validating COGs/COEs, generating position reports, and providing timely updates to the wider business. Data Analysis and Reporting : Utilize data to support decision-making, identify trends, and generate actionable insights for client-facing and sales teams. Client Portfolio Management : As you progress, you will take on the responsibility of managing bespoke risk-managed client positions. Key Skills Written Communication : Ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured reports with a high level of attention to detail. Analytical Thinking : Proactive approach to problem-solving with the capability to communicate detailed analysis in an understandable manner. Numerical Skills : Strong numerical proficiency and a logical approach to complex scenarios. Attributes : Enthusiastic, well-organized, self-motivated, and willing to take ownership of personal development. Qualifications/Experience Essential: Strong analytical and research skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel essential) Experience within the energy industry or a strong interest in energy markets Excellent written and verbal communication skills Minimum 5 GCSEs A-C grade including Maths and English Degree-level education in a relevant field (Finance, Economics, Data Science, or similar) Desirable: Experience with programming languages such as VBA and Python Background in trading or risk management and energy markets.
