Hewson Farms is a progressive arable farm in the Chertsey area of Mid Canterbury. We are seeking a competent and motivated applicant who can work independently or with limited supervision. The role is workshop-based with some in-field work. The successful applicant will be required to assist: Service and maintain a modern fleet of agriculture machinery - arable and specialist vegetable machinery and farm vehicles. Complete a considerable variety of general engineering, including MIG welding, etc. Modification of implements and fabrication of new and existing plant items. Communicate with other staff in a constructive and productive manner. Applicants must have initiative and be able to: Be accountable and responsible for each task to be completed, including the reporting/recording process. Work extended hours when required to keep our fleet moving efficiently throughout our busy periods. Complete work and operate in a safe manner that complies with health and safety regulations. Have good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, tidy workplace habits and respect for colleagues. Be capable of organizing and keeping up with their own workload. Be a reliable, friendly, punctual and trustworthy member of Hewson Farms. Adhere to health and safety procedures. Enjoy a very varied role. Be capable of working in a team environment.
