An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Hepatology Clinical Nurse Specialist to work within the Gastroenterology Directorate at Salford Care Organisation. The post requires vision, dedication, and passion for the speciality, which is underpinned by a desire to provide the highest standard of patient care. You will be enthusiastic, motivated, and an organised individual with advanced clinical skills and knowledge, with the skill to work autonomously and as a key member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT). Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to work autonomously to provide a service for patients who have Liver Disease in Salford. They will be required to make an assessment of the patients' health care needs based on highly developed nursing knowledge and skills. The post holder will be responsible for ordering necessary investigations and providing treatment and care both individually and as part of a team working closely with the Lead Consultant Hepatologist. The post holder will effectively manage a caseload of patients to ensure that they are provided with a high standard of care and are referred appropriately. The post holder will support the fibroscan clinic and the paracentesis service working closely alongside the gastroenterology team. About us

Degree in Nursing or equivalent portfolio of evidence at a senior level. Current registration with the NMC. Extensive post-registration plus significant experience within gastroenterology. Experience of working autonomously. Skills and abilities

Able to effectively communicate highly complex and sensitive information. Evidence of involvement in the development of programmes of care, protocols, and/or clinical audit. Evidence of involvement in teaching and mentoring learners. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
