Are you an experienced health care professional in working with Looked After Children and passionate about improving health & wellbeing outcomes? NELFT is committed to enhancing our services to children and young people and we are looking for a Health Visitor/School Nurse to take on the role of a Looked After Children Nurse in Thurrock. Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Looked after Children Team and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively support and liaise with other health and social care professionals and agencies. The Children Looked After Nurse will be required to identify and implement plans to meet the health needs for this vulnerable group. This will be achieved by improving the co-ordination, access and delivery of health care to children and young people in care (0 -19yrs) both living in Thurrock and who are the responsibility of Thurrock. This role will provide a valuable contribution to the wider safeguarding health agenda. Working for our organisation

Starting with NELFT NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. Qualifications

Registered Health Visitor/School Nurse Teaching/Mentoring Qualification/working towards Registered Nurse first level Experience

Have significant clinical experience of the health needs of children and young people and the health needs of looked after children Aware of current legislation and guidance in relation to Looked After Children and Safeguarding Children Ability to develop effective working relationships with all agencies Working within a community setting Skills
